Properly equipped, those were nice. The 6000 was clearly the best looking of the GM quartet - Celebrity / 6000 / Ciera / Century.

Boring exterior styling, but it had nice power, RWD, and many standard features for its time period.

Well, with a car that is at least 20 years old, the most likely problem is that the alternator is failing.
Have your mechanic check the alternator's output.

Simple answer---the introduction of the Lexus LS400 in 1989 for the 1990 model year really creamed the German automobile industry in the USA, and the Cressida was discontinued in 1992.

Speaking of the Avalon, the newest edition has gotten such strong reviews that many of the automobile magazines have questioned why anybody should buy a Lexus ES 350 for an extra $5K or more?

Wait until the Toyota execs back home start reading those reviews!!!

If that ends up being the case Avalon could be doomed just like the Cressida. Profit margains on the Avalon might not be high enough and would detract sales away from the entry luxury lineup at Lexus. Time will tell...
