I haven't bought a new car in like 7yrs. Anyone buy a Toyota Camry 2009 recently? How did you go about negotiating a good deal? In the past, i would give the dealer a drive out price that i wanted and go from there. What about interest rates and rebates nowdays? I am also thinking about getting a Honda Accord, but it seems like they don't advertise for 0.0% financing. In the past, Honda didn't seem to be flexible in negotiating also, not sure about nowdays.Thanks.
I purchased a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid in October of 2007. I previously had a 1997 Lexus ES300 with just under 100,000 miles. The Lexus was a great car but I wanted something that was more fuel efficient.
I have had no regrets in with the TCH. I got the dealership down about $3K. Now I purchased it before the economy shifted so I'm not sure what kind of deal you can get now. For the longest time Toyota was not offering any rebates on the TCH. I did see an advertisement for a $1K rebate on TV some months ago.
My TCH is a great car. I have almost every option on the car. It has a huge navigation screen and the voice activated controls are great. I also like the Smart Key System is great. You just need to have the key fob on you rather than taking out a key to open your car door. The push button start is a fun feature too. And I am averaging 34 mpg mixed city and highway driving.
I'd go to edmonds.com and pick out waht you want then look at the invoice price. By next moth you should be able to get below the invoice price. Rememebr that some incentive by makers go to teh dealer and are not advertised. If you have good credit you should also see lower financing that at a bank or credit union.A example is I got my Honda last july for 2000 below invoice and at 0.9% financing.Be prepare to walk away thoif they don't meet your price.
i just went to a local dealership as it is closed on sundays to check out what is on the lot w/o any salesman bugging me. the camrys look awesome these days. i am looking for a base model, so nothing fancy. thanks guys. will let u know how it goes as i do my preliminary research on edmunds and yahoo.
Anyone know where i can find out the fees that dealerships tack on? like document fees, admin fees, etc.. i am trying to get an idea of what fees are legit and how much they actually should be? thanks again.
For the money, I'd be looking at a Mazda 6 or 2010 Subaru Legacy - better cars than the Camry imo. Maybe even the newest Civic - its a pretty big car.
