But how does 'Well, Ford did the same thing' in any way justify Toyota's actions?

And lastly, just to be clear, I'm not a ***-car basher anymore than I'm a domestic fanboy. I've owned both. My current ride is a 09 xB for cryin' out loud!

Read my posts carefully, folks. I'm not 'na-na'-ing ANYTHING, though I do recognize the irony of a brand whose entire reputation is built on reliability and customer satisfaction having such a nasty issue and then going through such great lengths to cover it up.

What makes you think I was referring to JUST you?

There are at least 3 threads on this issue, currently. Do you think it is a coincidence? Try some of the more um... learned automobile sites and you will not see this sort of vitriol concerning this issue.

Japanese car fans have only themselves to blame for this. It seems they can dish it out, but can't take it.

I am not against Japanese cars at all. The problem is not the cars. It's "the all American cars are crap" spoken by those who obviously do not know facts. All they know is what CR says. If you're not one of them, then fine, but they deserve to get some of what they've been shoveling for 20+years rubbed in their faces.

I am one of those who say American Cars are crap, why because the ones I have owned have been crap plus the ones my family have owned have been crap, yet the imports that my family ownes now have been incredibly reliable. This is not from CR, this is from my own experience.

And Ive had more problems with my Japanese cars than my American ones. But do I go around proclaiming that all Japanese cars are crap and completely turn a blind eye to em? No!!! Im not ignorant and blind like most Japanese car fanboys, thats why.

Fact is, many American cars these days are more reliable than many Japanese cars, and Lord knows theyre far better looking and dont sound like party favors.
