Do not let them fool you. What they are doing is purposefully investing money into the maintenance of Toyotas. Similar to what Sony did in the early 80s. This is a typical manuver by a company that has been dominating American assembly markets.
This is all a scam. They want you to see Toyota as a new product. Soon Toyota will take over the maintenance aspect of vehicles. Only major US player is Ford. Shops will close and local repair shops will get the business.

I believe the OP, it is a scam!!! I think they are intentionally tarnishing their good reputation so they can do more oil changes and tire rotations!
