Sarasota has beautiful beaches. I wonder if the oil has hit Florida's west coast yet.
Not yet (I'm in Pinellas County... about 5 miles from Honeymoon Island). But it could happen anytime (they've been saying that for a week.)

I wouldn't say I hate the beach, but I never go. I don't even go swimming--the closest I come is a nice long soak in the tub, but the water is usually warmer than what it is in a pool.

I also don't think it'd be a very good idea to go swimming in my jeans.

Nope. Still pristine thank goodness! ( I have a good friend that lives there.)

I danced in that drum circle for an hour. Half the time my eyes were closed. It was one of the most incredibly moving things that I have ever done in my life. I don't even know how to explain it...it was just amazing.

So far, they are okay. I am still hoping to go back this summer...if there is oil, I'll spend the days helping with cleanup.

If I never see another beach in my life, that would be fine with me.

Hmm I think I know someone who was just there

I LOVE the beach. I try to go to the Caribbean every year, usually on a cruise so I can visit a different beach every day. Love snorkeling with the fishes too.

I'd like the beach a lot more if there was free broadband.
