Has anyone been there? We're going there in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to get some recs for things to do/see. I've had no luck on other travel sites, which is unlike any other destination we've ever been to. We'll be staying at a hotel inside Yellowstone for 2 nights, but our first 2 nights are in actual Jackson and we are looking for things to do there. Thanks for any help!

I've been there a number of times. Jackson is a small town near a big national park, so don't expect much in the way of city life. Having no idea what you enjoy I can't recommend anything in particular. Google is your friend. Try this for starters: Jackson Hole Summer Activities :: Jackson, Wy

for daytime, I would look into some float trips. They have both white water (Hoback Jct) and docile floating (Tetons). I have best enjoyed the slow boat (Kayak / canoe best). It is a good way to see wildlife and sights from a different perspective.

Nightlife is adequate in the downtown Jackson area.

Actually I think the Grand Tetons are more interesting to see than Yellowstone but that's just me.

We were there two years ago. Didn't spend any time in Jackson - we were in a motorhome.

I'd spend my time in Grand Teton National Park. It's beautiful, and right outside Jackson.

I agree, Grand Teton NP is amazing! The town is nice to walk thru, nice galleries, restaurants, too.

It’s been a while since we were there but my most memorable experiences are:

Seeing moose, buffalo, wildflowers everywhere
Whitewater rafting
Horseback riding
Hiking (watch for bears!)
Soaking in our hot tub at night…the sky was full of stars (We don’t see stars much here in the city.)
Going to a chuck wagon for breakfast or dinner. IIRC we went to Dornan’s . Don’t really remember the food that much, but the scenery was (again) stunning.

Shopping and dining were really good in the village – favorite restaurants:
Sweetwater and Snake River Grill

Snake River Grill
We went to see a play one night that was very good, too

Have a great time!
