DUBLIN, Ireland, July 1 (UPI) -- An Irish airline announced plans to introduce "vertical seats" for standing passengers with $7 tickets, but safety officials said the plans may be quashed.

Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O'Leary announced the plans to replace the back 10 rows in all of the airline's 250 planes with standing areas along with a plan to replace the bathrooms with $1.50 pay toilets, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.

O'leary makes these crazy announcements to get free publicity. He has no real intentions of following through with these plans, but he knows that there is a sucker born every minute. The newspapers eat it up, and splash his airline's name all over the front page. You can't buy that kind of advertising.

...and while O'Leahy is making these announcements, the public forgets his special summer levy of additionnal 5 € per luggage.
Ryanair is a disgrace of an airline.
Flying rats.

BM (Before Marriage) I had a pay-thingy (non working !!!) used on those pay-toilets from years ago.
I mounted in on my bathroom door ..
Then I got married, and my wife made me remove it ....
That was 40 years ago ...
Secret of long time marriage ... *Yes dear* .....

I would prefer standing, it seems better than sitting for long periods of time but I would really like the ultra cheap rates. I'd do it.

I'd do it also- imagine flying from NYC to Miami for $10! More money to spend on food and shopping. The bad thing would be how I'd feel nursing a hangover while standing on an airplane for the ride back. I may be more slumped than standing.
