Several of us from my old unit in the war got to honor one our guys whose name is there on Memorial Day a couple of years ago, in the company of his brother and nephew. They even let me make a speech!
Knowing your propensity to use you own personal photos, I'm going to start the guessing with Magog, Quebec. The real challenge here would be to name a city that does NOT have a park that would be a close copy of this one.
That looks like a swan boat, so it must be Public Gardens Park in Boston.

As for my personal pics you are right JT as a previous moderator used to delight in deleting any photos i posted saying they were copyright infringements i tend to just use personal stuff which (for future reference)spans all of Canada and all of Americas east coast..
I don't have many pictures in my computer as I still favor hard-copy photos in a shoebox.
But, I do often post pictures I've found of places I've been.
The use of this building more than a century ago lent it's name to an important event. The event actually goes by two names, either of which will be the answer. There IS a clue in the picture.
