Airline passengers can expect to see as well as feel new pat-down procedures at U.S. airports over the coming weeks. A new invasive "pat down" procedure goes into effect Friday. The new procedure will allow TSA agents to use the front of their hands to search the entire body of passengers, including the breast and genital areas.

I've had two kids. That means everybody and his uncle including the hospital custodian has had a bird's-eye-view of my most netherest parts. I could care less about pat downs--have at it.

I am far more concerned about the cumulative radiation exposure of body scanners. They are considerably more dangerous to my well being than a low IQ TSA agent groping my underwear.

I agree, for me it is not an issue - and I did not have 2 kids - but I'd do that over the radiation machine. Pat me down all you want. Male or female, fine with me.

I'd opt for the pat down over a (undisclosed) dose of radiation. Maybe the agent can give me a quick foot massage and pedicure during the pat-down...

I got patted down at the airport before I ever had kids.
The UK airport personnel were very thorough in the days of the Troubles.

As a matter of fact, I've had some fairly sensitive goings-over (pat-down as well as a little investigative chitchat) back in 2006 when I took a solo trip to Europe. I think it was partly just random but also partly because I was traveling alone.

I too would rather be patted down than stand in that body scanner thing.

Getting patted down is no big deal. I had it done to me on the first day they allowed flights back in the air after 9/11 at LGA. They didnt do it the luggage scanners. They did it to every passenger at the entry gate before they got on the plane.

But I got one that many people haven't even heard of yet. I was getting on an international flight out of Atlanta and right after I passed through the door of the entry walkway there were three TSA agents with German Shepards. Try the feeling of a dogs snout in your privates.

I'm pretty sure every dog owner has felt that more than once!

Can I request a pretty female TSA agent do the pat-down? I'm guessing no. Otherwise there'd be a long line for that procedure and the virtual-stripsearch machine would be gathering dust.

This article was linked in another thread in this topic. http://www.theatlantic.com/national/...istance/65390/ I thought it was pretty funny.

Good for you for being AWAKE!!!

Yes these body scanners ARE NO GOOD!!!!!

This new "Procedure" is intended to embarrass people enough so they give in and take the FULL BODY SCAN!
