How do I know if the Hotel website is really for that hotel and not some scam? People create fake websites, try to scam people. It's called La Quinta Inn, this is the site I found La Quinta Inns & Suites Official Site - Hotels, Reservations, Hotel Deals How do I know that it's really the hotel's website?

You could telephone the hotel.
You could contact the hotel chain and have them verify the web address you are using.

A phishing website looks like the real one, but the URL is completely different. It's most common with banking/Paypal/Ebay sites where you click on a link that takes you to Paypal for example, but url is something completely different. More info can be found here.

LQ is valid, Ive booked and stayed there. If you use google, there should be a Green Check Mark next to it. Gray mean they have not verified it, Red = Bad/spam/virus.
