hi everyone, i'm planning a trip to Germany later this year and can't decide what train pass is best to get. i'd like to travel extensively within Germany, but I'm not sure what rail pass is best. any suggestions? i did find this:
If your flight lands in Frankfurt, there is a station right at the airport where trains from many of the main routes in Germany and central Europe stop. Frankfurt is a good place to start your trip, you'll probably want to stay somewhere nearby just to rest after the long plane ride before hitting the rails to travel around. If that's the case, just take one of the local trains from the airport to the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station). A good place to stay is Hotel Zeil, located at Zeil 12, Frankfurt. It's about a mile or so from the train station, not too expensive, clean and quiet.
forgot to mention...i'm also considering Croatia. Has anyone been to Croatia? (the coastal region, mainly)
Croatia is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful places on earth and I would really recommend a visit. The Adriatic coast is still mainly unspoilt but don't leave it too late, as Europeans are buying houses there and tourism is a growth industry making development more common.
I would recommend Istria and Dalmatia the 2 coastal provinces. Lots of stunning villages perched on the sea line, medieval towns, crystal clear waters, gorgeous beaches. Oh and according to my Dad the women are the most beautiful on the planet !
Dubrovik is one of Europe's jewels and now that the war is over, has revived and is truly a world class place with great restaurants and facilities.
If you do visit try to take a boat ride round the coast an unmissable and unforgettable way to see it.

On the buildings as well as on train schedules; you'll see "Hauptbahnhof" abbreviated as "Hbf". "Bahnhof", which is any station besides the main train station, will be abbrviated "bf". Have a great trip!
