My wife and I are trying to make vacation plans for next year. Both of us have not been to Disneyland or Orlando,FL in decades. We're thinking of going there, but we don't have kids and we're not exactly youthful (early to mid 30's). Can we still have a good time even though we're not a "whole family"? If so, what is there to do for adult couples or adults in general?
I've been to Disneyland/Disneyworld 5 times in total - and enjoyed it just as much the two times I went with adults as I did when going with children. As for what to do - do the same as everyone else! Take some rides, grab a drink and something to eat, watch the people and the kids enjoying themselves, watch the parade, maybe buy a couple of souvenirs.
Having said that, I'm not sure that - as an adult - I'd want to spend more than a full day there, or two days tops.
I prefer Disneyland without kids. I took mine twice, but I've been there 6 times with just friends and it was much more fun. Some of the rides are not really good for little kids, and even the ones that are can be better appreciated by adults. And you can eat at the better food establishment, have a beer........oh now you've got me wanting to go again!!
Well we're far older than 30 and we've been to Disneyland, and Disney World, several times for at least 2-3 days each visit and had a fantastic time. The theme park is not for kids only. Epcot was a good worthwhile venture also. There is so much to do and see, the food was good, the people were extremely friendly and helpful.
Then we went to the Kennedy Space center not far from Disney World and had a blast, figuretively speaking. Actually saw a shuttle launch a few years ago.

I am in my late 30s and I always get a kick out of Disneyland. One of my best vacation experiences was Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and had a good time by myself. There are tons of things you can do and shows to see. you could even rent a Scooter it you have limitations on walking long distances.
There are two groups out there: Disney people and not Disney people. The Disney people I know go there, adults only, and have a blast every time. I fall into the non-Disney camp and the place gets on my nerves. I went to Disneyworld as a kid twice and a few times as an adult, having lived near there. I wouldn't go there again unless I was taking a child(ren).

Are you planning on going to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA or Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, FL? Two different places.
If you are talking about Florida, there are tons and tons of things to do with four completely different parks. You could spend two weeks there only doing more adult/older kid stuff and still not see or do it all. Disney World is one of the top honeymoon destinations in the USA, so that should tell you something.
Well, at least as an adult, you should have enough savvy to realize what a mind-numbing ripoff Disney properties are, and be able to amuse yourself letting your cynicism run wild. P. J. O'Rourke once wrote a column about how he and his girl friend spent a hilarious day in Disney World, trying to find a place private and isolated enough to h*ve s*x. That might be entertaining.
