Absolutely and this is why I never book with Orbitz, Expedia, etc. I look at fares on kayak then proceed to the airline's website to book.

Case in point: 4 of us traveling in early December. Two of us booked directly with the airline, the other two used third party sites. Delays were abound due to O'Hare closing down and the ripple effect.

Our flights were delayed and all of us would miss our connection. The two of us who booked directly with the airline were able to get on another flight out within the hour. The two that booked with third party sites were shifted back and forth between the gate they were supposed to depart from and the one they wanted to depart from, all while everyone pointed fingers. They spent the night at the airport hotel while we flew home.
