CARDIFF, Wales, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Officials at an airport in the Welsh capital said a 10-pound frozen turkey was seized from the carry-on bag of a passenger headed for Spain.
Cardiff Airport officials said the turkey was taken and the man was told perishable foodstuffs are not allowed on international flights without official permission, The Sun reported Thursday.

Exactly. Meats, fruits, vegetables, and legumes are generally never allowed on international flights. I know someone who wasn't allowed to bring an apple onboard that she planned on consuming in flight--she quickly ate it in the boarding area.
Items that are allowed are things like cookies, protein bars, candy, chips, etc. My neighbor brings me goodies from the UK on a regular basis as a thank you for watching her home and bringing in the mail, but they are all prepackaged shortbreads and candies and such.
Never meat. Things like gravy granules, Pot Noodles, custard powder, as many Cadburys Buttons as I could lay my hands on. Weird stuff.
