My fiancee and I are honeymooning in the BVI, hopefully renting a private villa. Some of the entry level ones are fairly priced but most lack a/c. Has anyone ever taken a wall unit with them and if there are restrictions?
First of all, it's going to cost you a fortune to check it as excess/overweight/oversized baggage. Next, it's probable that the power in your villa either won't be the correct voltage or won't be "enough" to run such a device. And last, your "landlord" will likely have a fit and might even toss you out for using it--power on the islands is extraordinarily expensive!
Sea breezes generally keep things comfortable in the islands.
Either pony up for a unit woth a/c or make alternate plans. Congratulations!
buy one there, itll be cheaper than checking it in
