I am thinking of planning a trip for spring break (the end of March) to either Mykonos, Greece or Malta. I have two children 7 and 4. Has anyone been to either island? How will the weather be? Too cold to swim, I think. Is there a lot to do?
I am looking for a beach setting, but with culture & sightseeing- any other suggestions?
Mykonos is part of Greece, it is a Cycladic island. (There are several sets of islands off the mainland of Greece.)
Greece is *not* a subtropical climate.
My kid once went on a school trip there in March, and there was snow at Athens.
The end of March might be quite nice, but it will not be swimming conditions.
I have never been to Malta, but really would like to go sometime, it looks enchanting.
Both of your choices have a lot of beautiful sights to see, in terms of history as well as landscape.
I looked into mediterranean cruises for spring break- many dont' start until May/June- I assume due to weather.
I'd love to hear what you book- keep us posted.
