Can anyone recommend a Beach Town with a few hours ride of Northeast Pa? I need to get away desperately! I would love something a little less commercialized, where we could stay right on the beach. A clean beach....

Default Hawk's Nest Beach, Connecicut

Is 3 hours too far away? If not, try Hawks Nest Beach Connecticut. You'll get nice little beachfront cottages which shouldn't cost too much, especially becuase of it's End of Summer Discount.

Link to the website for more information:Hawk's Nest Beach - New England Resort, CT Vacation Rental Family Resort, Waterfront Rentals Available

The route to get there from Lake Ariel, PA.
1. Drive down state route 191 to Interstate 84.
2. Drive east on Interstate 84 all the way until you meet Interstate 691 in Connecticut (Thats 90% of the drive)
3. Follow Interstate 691 East, it will eventually turn into a regular road. (Route 66)
4. When you meet Route 9 in Middletown, Start heading South on it until it ends on Interatate 95.
5. Go northeast on 95 across the bridge then get off the first exit after the bridge.
6. Turn right on state route 156, follow it end up in the Old Lyme area, Hawks Nest Beach should be nearby.
