The airlines companies are mean and inconsiderate. I have flown business class most of my travels. And I would at least expect something nice out of the steward's. I have gotten my elbow smashed by a rushing stewardess and she did not apologize or anything. They complain about how people are mean to them, but what about them to the people.

Unless you're flying an airline like Air India, the customer service is generally friendly if you are respectful, and FA's are generally nice.

The airline business is one of the most competitive businesses out there , and most of the companies are struggling for survival. They have to profit somehow, just like charging for bags or making those fees. Companies need to profit to make it, people think that they are ENTITLED to everything when that is far from the case. America, and the world in general has turned into a complaining society that feels the world owes them everything they don't work for.

What do I know though.. just my .02

Advertising encourages that attitude. Ever seen an airline ad that touts that airlines problems? Just to be clear, I don't have that many complaints about the airlines.

Actually, there have been a few:

The airlines will improve service/ammenities when the ticket locators like cheaptickets.com and others start listing things besides price for people to base their choice on. Right now it's pretty much price and travel time (mostly the same). Maybe they could list % of ontime arrivals, customer satisfaction scores, etc. I think people WOULD factor those things in to their purchase decision if the information was presented at the time the choice was being made.

I don't think so. Those that would are already shopping by something other than price. Those that shop exclusively by price aren't going to be swayed.

I'd agree with that. I'm going by cheapest price to fly, I don't care if they put me in the cargo hold.
