We are coming up on our 20th anniversary in November and I would like to take my wife away on a 4 day weekend trip. We are pretty flexible, Carribean , the US anywhere but Mexico or Jamaica. We want to keep the flight to 3 hours or less from NJ. I was thinking Bermuda, but we have been there a number of times and I was hoping the collective wisdom of this forum could recommend something different.

Three hours or less pretty much rules out all of the Caribbean and central America. The Bahamas would work, maybe Atlantis?

Three hours of flying will keep you more or less east of the Mississippi. If you don't mind cold weather, Montreal or Ottawa are both romantic. You could also look at Lake Placid--there are a couple of amazing resorts there. Fly to ALB and rent a car for the two hour drive. Portsmouth, NH is another great place to spend a long weekend, there's a really nice Marriott up there, and off season prices are very affordable.

I'd also consider Charlotte, Charleston, and Savannah, all three are romantic and might be cool but not cold.
