We were in Iceland exactly two months before the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull. We were very fortunate to witness, as several locals told us, "the best Northern Lights in the last 30 years." Some lights flew across the sky like Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding, others glided like cascades of glissandi. My amateur attempt to capture the magic was pathetic, but I'd rather blame the result on the camera and not the photographer.

Piran, Slovenia. I went to Slovenia in February 2010 and was lucky enough to visit Piran on the Adriatic Coast on a beautiful morning. In mid-summer the maze of alleyways are probably packed with visitors.
The eighth photo (9560) looks exactly like our old house in Italy. Same street of the same width, same one door to the left and solid wall to the right, same cobblestones that leads to the same door with the same two storeys above and two same windows just like ours. Same cable running to the right of the second-storey window. The only difference is the colour of the utility box. Ours was black; this one is steel grey.
I love Cartagena! I visited this past summer and these photos brought back so many pleasant memories. So sad to see the homeless boy, though. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
After I was really impressed how fast my Bukhara pic in our "Where is the place?" thread was solved, I decided to add some more pictures of Bukhara, Uzbekistan from my last visit in 2011:
