Lord knows we complain when it's bad. Here's an "atta boy" for a hotel that got it right.

Sofitel LA. Right across from the Beverly Center. From the charming and efficient valets to the speedy check-in, to the stylish-yet-functional rooms, this place exceeded my every expectation. The pool area was uncrowded and immaculate. Housekeeping and room service were also spot-on.

The hotel bar, Stone Rose, is one of Rande Gerber's (married to Cindy Crawford) properties. Gorgeous room, beautiful cabanas outside, DJ at night, impeccable service.

SIMON LA is the restaurant on site run by Iron Chef darling Kerry Simon. OMG, the tuna tartare! The junk food platter is a gourmet version assortment of your childhood favorites, like Hostess cupcakes, cotton candy, Rice Krispie treats, a tiny milkshake, and the most wicked caramel corn EVER. Many of their appetizers can be served at Stone Rose as well.
Don't forget to say hello to Q, the dashing manager. We were spoiled, spoiled, spoiled.

I can't wait to return. I was there for 4 nights. Not a single complaint.

Nice to hear! We seem to be getting a glut of new high-end/boutique hotels lately. Glad to hear this one is up to snuff

It's in a great location for exploring LA, too! I love that junk food sampler. Simon LA is a great place to host a birthday party and order those samplers as dessert. Too fun!
