some ppl see a news story about drug violence in juarez and then assume an entire nation of 110 million ppl the size of the US east of the mississippi is all bad and dangerous. so annoying. lotta the places these ppl visit in mexico are actually safer than ANY big cities in the US. quintana roo (cancun etc) has a lower murder rate than any US state.

I'm curious...in Egypt were you at all warned about going out without a male escort? And did you feel you had to be careful to dress more covered up than usual, or were your western clothes okay? Basically, did anyone at the resort caution you in any way about going out?
