You stand the whole time.
I'm sure there's a way, you can strap someone in....they stand up and that way....you could cram more people in the plane...than you could with seats. You'd be saving fuel since...strap boards or whatever you would call them...don't weigh as much as seats do.
Just wonder if there's any other pros that may come out of this...if passengers are strapped in securely, I don't see a safety issue.....
sadly though....if there's a point where the airlines get really desperate for funds...they just may do this...and the fare won't change....
I compare it to those that pay less for things like regular seating, etc...well, if you fly the whole time standing up...you pay less, since you give up comfort....
Even if it made the tickets cheaper, people wouldn't stop complaining about it and how terrible it is. On top of that, it is just asking for injuries and problems, it sounds like way too much of a liability for not much added profit - if any.

This thread reminds me of a cashier trying to tell a doctor a better way to do brain surgery.
There are rules, and lots of them. You will never see standing room on commercial aircraft.
Ryan Air likes to get free advertising by sometimes announcing crazy ideas like this. Ideas that will never fly.
Federal Aviation Regulations are known as FAR's. Airlines operate under FAR part 121. There are millions of parts to part 121, and they regulate everything right down to the last nut, and bolt of an aircraft.

I'm aware of the FAA rules,...but they would be standing...just like this one amusement park ride (the name escapes me right now)...where you're strapped in...even though you're standing. If an airline tried something this radical...I'm sure all they have to do is bribe Congress, to get them to change any regulation.
Standing still for as little as 15 minutes is enough to send my back into fits of pain. I cannot see myself doing it for even an hour, let alone several.
