We're in search of a great paddle adventure this late Spring/early summer for a week-two weeks. We're open as to U.S., Canada or south/Central America.
Looking for reasonable cost/frugal, lots of wildlife/birds, glimpses into different cultures, and easy to moderate in terms of difficulty.
Have you taken any trips, used any outfitters you really like and could recommend?
Late-spring offers up some great weather for paddling in the southeast. The Everglades would be awesome! One of my favorite areas for sea kayaking is North Carolina's Cape Lookout National Seashore. There are a few islands which comprise the seashore, but the best of them all IMO is Shackelford Banks. There's probably not two weeks worth of paddling there, but it may be worth a look.

Yes, I would do the SE USA (include western SC, NC and SE TN, North GA) or Mex in Spring.

Guess there's no place like home! We live in Coastal NC!! Maybe we'll stay home instead of traveling...
Check out the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. It is one of the most remote areas in the lower 48 and has some incredible scenery. Most of the portages are on relatively flat ground. The hardest part on them is the mud. The only drawback to this area is the mosquitoes. I think that's Minnesota's state bird.
