I am going to be in Scottsdale in November for a conference, and would like to take a few hours to go on a short hike to see some desert scenery. I have hiked in Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, but have never been south to the Phoenix area. Any suggestions for an easy day hike that is close to the city, but with decent variety and scenery?

I go hiking at Estrella Mountain which is in West Phenix. There's a hike that's about 3.4 miles and it takes us about 3 hours with moderate terrain. I'm kind of a baby so I thought it was rough terrain. Hence, the reason why it took us so long to get through it.

I know there are closer ones in Scottsdale. You can probably look up "Scottsdale hiking trails" on Google and get some good results. Have fun!
