Ok well there are a ton in Florida but the bridge thing takes care of most.

3 random islands in the middle of Biscayne Bay
Fisher Island
Nantucket
Marthas Vineyard
North Island NZ
England
Mallaorca
Nassau
Bimini
Some private island in the Bahamas
Aurba
Puerto Rico
Saint Thomas
Curaçao
Corfu

I think that's it without bridges.

The inhabitants will not be best pleased!

So did I! For me it is Oahu, The Big Island, and Kauai.

This realization made me put on my thinking cap.
Those three Hawaiian Islands, with the other islands I previously counted in my other post, plus:

Great Britain, Ireland, Angel Island (SFO), Nassau and Grand Bahama, Capri in Italy, Hvar and Lokrum, (Croatia), Cayman Island, Jamaica, and the British and American Virgin Islands I have visited, will probably put me at 25.

Not counting Puerto Rico (only was in the airport) and the island I live on that happens to have a bridge, also Île de Ré in France, it too has a bridge, and many Florida Keys.

Just an FYI .. Mackinaw Island is not connected to the mainland by a bridge. That would be the Mackinaw bridge that connects lower and upper Michigan.

I've visited maybe 8 or 9 islands

Right. That is why OP said Mackinaw would count.
