If you could only spend two weeks in one?

For me I would probably say South Africa. Since you can go on safari, experience the magnificent Drakensburg, traditional tribal cultures, a bit of colonial charm (if you're into that), Cape Town looks really nice.etc.

Also if you wish rank your top 5:

1. South Africa
2. Madagascar
3. Tanzania
4. Egypt
5. Ethiopia
6. Congo
7. Kenya
8. Nigeria
9. Morocco
10. Rwanda

Botswana for me as it is the only country listed I have not been to . I am a huge fan of Alexander Mc Call Smith's books and it sounds like a lovely place.

I have been to Botswana (including a boat as well as land safari) & South Africa (including visiting a safari reserve). I would still like to see Victoria Falls (which is near the Botwana border but I wasn't able to get there when I was in Botswana) and I would also like to visit the Pyramids & Luxor in Egypt.

Hmm Africa is huge... lots of Europeans go to Morocco, Tunisia or Egypt for vacation, but that is not the part of Africa I'm primairly interested in, because they most likely stay in their 5***** Luxury Resort without seeing the country itself.

I would chose Kenya or Tanzania, however I miss Namibia in this poll.

I'm a city girl, so I'd pick South Africa. I really have no desire to go on a safari because I'd get nightmares watching wildlife kill and maim each other.

Tanzania for Ngorogoro Crater and any place where I might be able to do a walk-up to see Silverback gorillas.

We were just in Tanzania this past June camping for 2 months. Rwanda I think is next on our list. Someday Egypt. So many countries, so little time (and money!).

Tanzania--for the opportunity to see both Ngorogoro Crater as well as hiking up in the higher mountains and tying that in with a trip to Zanzibar and the other coastal islands. I've always been fascinated by Zanzibar.

Only place I've been in Africa is Morocco, which I loved and will go back some day. Egypt is another place I'll end up visiting at some point.

The other countries that I've been interested in would be Madagascar and Ethiopia and Mozambique. Rwanda sounds interesting, though I'm not sure about the reality of travelling there.

And it wasn't on the list and it's only marginally included as part of Africa, but I've always wanted to see Cape Verde. Something just seems really fascinating about that location.

Ethiopia. I've already been to all the others. I kick myself every day for not including Ethiopia on my past itineraries. Well, sometimes only several times a week, if I think of other reasons to kick myself.
