Go local, save your $$ for a more memorable trip. OR triple your budget and have a decent NYE, tho plan it for NEXT YR in a WARM climate.. places are probably booked. Airfare certainly booked.
Consider some very interesting and unique local venue. Ask around, be safe, have a blast.
Problem with traveling and blowing all that money is theres no guarantee you going to get lucky and may end up alone and depressed.
Better idea is get a nice hotel close to home, get a few bottles of booze,hire an escort for the night, wine and dine her then get lucky, repeat second night and you just had a new years to remember with all objectives being achieved..
Im a 31 year old single guy looking to travel alone somewhere New Years. I'm wondering where the best place to go would be, I would like to maybe pick up a girl and have a good time out drinking. I currently live in Michigan. I dont want to spend alot of money for the vacation, maybe stay someplace like 3 nights, for around $400 or less with flight. Ive thought about Vegas but its expensive to go out there, any other ideas?
If you're only willing to spend $400, just stay home.
NYE is the easiest night of the year to pick up a girl. Just go to a local bar, find a girl that's alone, and tell her you'll kiss her when the ball drops. Then keep things going and take her home. Simple.
In my opinion, it's better to visit places at random times. You'll still get the experience of the place, but you'll spend way less and deal with less BS (personally, I'm a fan of not booking ahead of time and just showing up so I have wiggle room to do what I want....if you go somewhere during peak season, you lose that luxury).

The surest way to have a girl to party for a couple of inexpensive nights of drinking is to keep yourself a full time girlfriend. If she is a permanent girlfriend she will be agreeable to an economy short holiday and won't be out to vacuum out your pockets.
I can spend a couple of nights in Las Vegas for very cheap, but I don't gamble and I won't be in the market to hook up for some cheap sex. $400 for me would work. For you, not so much.
Hey, isn't there a big open air party in Times Square? You could probably take the train and just not get a motel room.
