I travel a lot for work and I go to a lot of different places. I stay in hotels/motels and I have found a lot of people behave like cattle in the back of a semi truck. It never seems to be a price point issue, it’s seems like a number of travelers go out of their way to be loud and obnoxious as possible.

I guess it's ok as long as they don't go "moo!" and crap on the floor.

How about... what keeps them from acting like cattle at home?

I travel a lot too and haven't noticed that. Maybe you're just too sensitive.

Other than the hotels that insist on renting to youth soccer/lacrosse teams, I have not encountered a lot of problems. The problem I have with SOME of the soccer teams is that the parents leave the kids at the hotel and go out to eat for a couple of hours.
Ditto for prom nights when some parents rent out rooms for their little darlings so they can have a party. Fortunately, a lot of the major chains have wised up and started a "no party" rule and are not hesitant to call the local police departments to report underage drinking.

Could you detail these hotels/motels you went to, so I can eventually avoid them in my future travels ?

I think the worst (outside of sports groups/prom/family reunions/etc.) are the hotels that have a lot of air crew staying at them. There are some around some major airports where people are coming and going all day and night. Every three minutes you hear toilets flush, showers turn on, hairdryers running, and doors opening and closing. These are not Days Inn or Travelodge, I'm talking Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, etc.
