Were driving from Boston to Denver next week with 3 drivers , not planning on an overnight stop , just a few 2 to 4 hour rest stops to recharge , if needed .
If any sightseeing done , it will be on the way back .
Every map site suggest a different route , some the High Route , some the Low Route .
Google , Bing , and Map Quest recommend I-90 to I 80

While others like AAA recommend a more Southern " Lower " route . I-84 to I-81 to I-80 . ( Leaning to this Route )
Also there is I-84 to I-80 , I-99 , To I-70 to Denver ,

Looking for suggestions from someone that has driven this route recently .
Thanks
Bob

I would keep a good eye on the weather predictions for your drive. There are likely to be major thunderstorms some where along your route at this time of the year. I would opt for the I-90 to I-80 to I-76, easy drive and I believe the fastest.

^^^Agree this is probably the best and fastest route this time of the year. You may want to have a plan B ready in case of bad weather where you would need to detour to another route.

If you haven't done so yet google 'Boston to Denver best route' and MapQuest will pop up you'll easily see the route.

I'd keep the same start, I-84 to I-81 South to I-80 West. Then just run I-80 to Akron, OH then take I-71 South to Columbus, OH and pick up I-70 West. It's a straight shot to Denver from there. There's more major cities to go through but gettin to I-70 is worth it, I-80 gets pretty lonely in spots West of Des Moines.

If you take the I-90 to I-80 you'll waist 6 hours driving across N.Y., on the tollway no less. It's like $12 bucks from Albany to Buffalo. There is another toll on I-70 when you get into Kansas, it runs together with the toll road to Witchita for awhile. It was like $5 bucks a few years ago.

We made it
I want to thank all of You for the suggestions .
We ended up following Emsman's Route , took us 39 Hrs. with breaks and Not pushing it do to some Heavy Rains .
Ex. Stop at a Petro/Iron Skillet at 5:00Am and cat nap till the Breakfast Buffet's opened up at 7:00 Am .
Traffic wasn't too bad , except very confusing Signage around Akron Oh. . We did hit some long stretches of one lane travel ( 12mi. /20 mi. ) in construction areas , but the speed limit was 60 .
Thanks Again
Bob
Ps
Seeing the Storm Clouds across the Kansas Plains was an Awesome Experience .
