I'm trying to decide on places to go during winter break I narrowed it down so far to either Los Angeles or Quebec (Montreal & Quebec City). Never been to either city before. I've been looking up ticket prices since I'll be flying out of Ohio to one of the two, as well as looking up attractions and monuments to see. Any suggestions would help.
If it's in March, as you move progressively into the month Montreal and Quebec City aren't so nice as it is late winter-early spring. Lots of cool rain, melting snow, slushy, muddy, etc.

I was planning some time between December 10ish through the 21st for either 7 that is my time window.
I live in the Sonoran Desert so in the winter I go......here. In the summer when it's absolutely miserable here I take several 3 day weekend trips over to San Diego and maybe one extended trip to San Francisco or Seattle.
Depends what kind of weather you like, cold Canada or temperate CA.
I'm kind of used to both as I have lived in both OH & Florida for extended times. I'm wondering is the Winter in Quebec a miserable winter or not so bad. Either one I would plan on trying to go to a professional game, so I'm thinking a Canadiens game might not be super expensive.

Word to the wise - plan that in advance as it's a tough ticket to get. Especially on Saturday nights.

Winters are generally cold enough that it's more crisp and white as opposed to grey and slushy. This is especially true in Quebec City. You are more likely to see rain in Montreal though there is always snow as well there in December. It really depends on the year - some Decembers are completely white all month, others only see snow arrrive towards the end of the month.
I went to Montreal for New Years Eve one year and had a blast! I live in the south where winters are pretty mild, so the cold snowy weather was a treat.
It i lived in Ohio I think I would be looking at LA. : )
