What are some of your honeymoon or anniversary trips? My wife wanted to go to Disney World (her life long dream) for our honeymoon but she didn't realize the total cost would be around $3,000 for the two of us. We live in south Louisiana and decided to go to San Antonio (February) for an extended weekend honeymoon. We had a nice time at a very affordable price and not a long drive. She started a secret bank account and put money aside and we went to Disney World for our 5th anniversary (also in February).

That secret account is what we refer to as our stash fund. I am glad you got to do Disney..

Our honeymoon was 55 years ago and we went, from So Ca to Encenada, Mex. Hubby was a sports writer for a small twice weekly newspaper in a town so of San Diego. A lady, who ran a small hotel in Encinada, said we could stay at the hotel free, if he would talk to her about some publicity for fishing in Mexico. We took her up on it. I am guessing our honeymoon cost about $100, if that much.

Our 25th anniversary, our kids sent us to Spain for a week, we extended the trip 5 days. Our 50th the kids gave us a party in Laughlin, NV for 40 of our old friends. They rented a yacht (actually just a party boat) for a few hours. We had a great 4 days, renewed our vows on the boat. This year was our 55th. The kids are sending us to Canada, starting next Friday for 8 days. We have kids who like to spoil us and we are fine with that.
