I would suggest either the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador or a trip to Israel.

I personally like to *do stuff*, so we could go to an island if there's stuff to see (I don't want to lie on a beach for a week).

Max time is 10 days, budget no more than $10K (that's a bit steep though, cheaper would be fine and welcomed).

Thoughts? Thanks!
OMG! If you decide to stay within the US, definitely come to Utah. Utah's five National Parks are unsurpassed. If you're interested in having me elaborate, please just say so. I'm a walking advertisement for my home-state. Seriously, there's everything from the most incredible hikes you've ever taken, to ziplining, to white-water river rafting. I can't imagine two teenage boys not loving every minute of it.

(Bryce Canyon. Just one of several incredibly beautiful, varied places to see in southern Utah. Lots to do besides "just looking")

You can do a road trip in Ireland.

Start from Dublin, then drive along the coastline to Waterford, Cork and return to the States From Limerick.

Well, we have more than 10 days. I'm going to fly to Boston; rent a car stop to visit friends in Beverly Farms, MA, Kittery Point and Bar Harbor, ME. Then we'll drive back to Upstate New York to stay with my half-brother; drive down to NY and spend a few days in Brooklyn and then grab a plane to Denver and visit with my daughter in Boulder. From there we will fly to LA and stay with friends north of Malibu and then drive up to Seattle and Bellingham and stay with friends there. Then will we'll fly from Seatac to London and stay with my son in London for a few days before returning home to Copenhagen.

Our lower budget selection this year:
Fly to San Diego - take 10 days and drive North to the Bay area;
If we have a larger budget:
Option 2: Fly to Barcelona and take a Western European Cruise.
