Longest I've done was I think 7.5 or 8 from New York JFK to Frankfurt, Germany.

I've always wanted to go to Singapore, and Australia, but that 19 hour flight would be an absolute killer. My mom's flown to India a couple times. I think she stopped over in London, but that's still a good 14 hours or so.

When younger, I kept thinking I would go to Australia and NZ, but time passed and I didn't. Even then, the time in the air was more than I wanted to think about. With a bad seat situation, even a few hours is not good.

If you can get a flight on Emirates even their cattle class is good.

Funny enough there was a news article in today's paper here saying the Singapore to Newmark flight is about to be scrapped. Singapore has also stoped it's direct flights to LA as well, leaving the qantas sydney to Dallas service as the worlds longest direct flight.

Edit: it actually does say that in the op's link if you get to page 5, did not read that far first time.

Amazing advances in technology now let nonstop flights fly farther and cheaper for airlines than ever before. Many follow routes that take them near the North Pole as they whip over the top of the globe to the other side of the world.

Unbelievable, no one can handle 19 hours, its hard to handle more then 8 hours to me.

In cattle class I'm more than ready to get off after 7 hours, but many of my flights are 8 hours.

However, in Emirates Business Class I don't really care how long I'm on the plane. One of my 14 hour flights was in Emirate Business Class and I enjoyed my flight. 19 hours would be pushing it though.

As long as it isn't in coach, I'd do it. I love flying as long as it's comfortable. The longest flight I did was about 16.5 hours to Sydney because of a strong headwind and I loved it!

We're about to do 13.5, LAX to Auckland. We're coming from ATL to LAX and final destination is Christchurch. IN COACH! Well part of way is coach, flight back from LAX TO ATL is Biz class, Christmas Eve red-eye.

It will be long but we can't afford to go in biz class and the thought of being halfway around the globe is intoxicating to me. I imagine my adrenaline rush will be in over drive.

We have family there and I want to have one more big trip with DS before he graduates HS. DS asked me yesterday "Do all NZ'ers talk with British accents?" LOL I said say that over there and you'll get an earful

I am so grateful for this opportunity, ths is a dream come true! I'll keep thinking that after I've been in airports and on airplanes for 2 days!!! My airport mantra

Any tips??

Enjoy your trip! NZ is on my bucket list. Been to Australia twice and those were very long flights. It was great when we had enough airmiles to come home business class!

I hate flying! So much so I try to find the most comfortable and shorted flight. For example recently, I was home to the states to visit my family (I live in Venice, Italy). I flew from D.C. to London, 7.5 hours, stayed in London, sight see, sleep and then two days later flew home . Yes its more expensive but I relaxed a bit before getting on another flight. I cannot do more than 8 hours in a flight, its very uncomfortable.
