I was very fortunate to travel as a young person all over the world with my parents. But I have not been in New Zealand, Australia.or Hawaii and I really want to visit there soon
I'm only listing international travel here, as that's often the most daunting.
I've been to Beijing, Seoul, Istanbul, Biga (also in Turkey), Paris, Windsor (Ontario), Hamilton (Bermuda), Sydney, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Diggi, and Mumbai (don't think I'm leaving anything out).
I've love to travel to Accra, Lagos, London (to see family only), Havana, St. John's (Antigua), Cairo, Tokyo, and Moscow. I hope to start moving on this list sometime in the new year.
3 things that are on my bucket list that I am DYING to accomplish!
All three are purely DIY excursions in the far out islands of the Bahamas, and while physically demanding, the real test is of ones mental strength!
1) Mayaguana:
An 8 mile drive (55 minutes) on an overgrown path to Wreck Bay, followed by another 7 miles of walking from Wreck Bay, past White Hill Bay, and onto Long Bay, and back!! I'll have to leave the lodge at 5 AM to start this trek!!
2) Great Inagua:
From Matthewtown (only settlement on the whole island w/just 900 people!), I will rent a 4 X 4 Jeep or a Ford F-150, and leave town at 6 AM, and drive a whopping 61 miles (6 hours) on a 4WD only road along the south shore of the island, then north along the east shore.
At the end of the path, I will park the truck, and then WALK another 14 miles to Northeast Point with 60 pounds on my back (90% water!!), where I will be 75 MILES FROM CIVILIZATION!! I will sleep the night in my 1 man tent that weight just 20 ounces, and then wake up the next morning and walk back to the truck and then drive the 61 miles back to civilization!!!
3) East Plana Cay:
A 70 mile, self guided boat excursion on an 18 footer over mostly open ocean, from Crooked Island to East Plana Cay. Unlike the previous two I described, this one will require that I pick my day carefully in terms of the weather. I could easily have a week or more of unsuitable conditions, so patients is required.
As with the other two though, i'll have to leave very early in the morning to get there at a decent time. Additionally, I will stick to a firm turn-back time of no later than 2 PM, just as mountaineers do when going for the summit!
I swear, if I make it successfully to all 3 of these places, totally under my own power, I'm going to not only feel higher than if i were to successfully summit Mt Everest, but Everest, K2, and Mt Annapurna!! The last two of these are actually a lot harder (and deadlier!) than Everest, even though not quite as high!!
I bought a book: this. I plan on checking off all of these places in 20 years. It may be a tall order but I know that I'll see at least half the places in person.
