I like flying this airline because they seem to be more punctual than others, being able to check bags for free is nice, and the planes are generally nicer too, even though I'm not a fan of the "you snooze you lose" seating procedure. However, their tickets aren't always the cheapest, so I was wondering what the best way is to get discounts. Do they have "text this number to XXXXX for a promo code" offers at sporting events, is there a website that offers discounts, or is being a rapid rewards member the best way to get offers?

You can sign up for their sale fare newsletters when you sign up for rapid rewards, which you might as well sign up for anyways sing it's pretty generous with point expiration (after two years of no account activity, and spending $10 through their shopping portal counts as activity and resets that clock)

Also check out southwest's Ding alerts. But SW doesn't have many sales anymore. In fact, in our market, Delta and Jet Blue are usually cheaper.

I cannot remember the last time I have been "DING"ed. It has been months.

As for PROMO Codes, I have seen them on Southwest Airlines Vacations Packages but not on flights only.
