We fly halfway across the country twice a year so that our little one can be with her cousins and grandparents on the major holidays. Unfortunately, my work doesn't allow me to live close by to the grandparents, or of course we'd need to fly a lot less often. Now we're about to fly to Florida to see some other family. That's the way it is in this spread-out, mobile country of ours. Sorry if that doesn't meet the needs of those "grownups" who can't stand the sound or sight of children.

She should have worked on "inside voices" at home. That said, if the child was talking in a normal "inside voice" and it annoyed you, too bad. Wear ear plugs. People have the right to talk on a plane, and people includes children.
No, this child was not JUST talking. The kid would not stop and was loud, more than just talking in a regular voice. I shouldn't be asked to fly only certain times of the day to avoid those critters.

Surely you cannot expect parents to discipline their special snowflakes. Everyone is supposed to adapt to them and be considerate of their situations
The mere thought of disciplining their child is too much effort.
Even within this thread we have that special segment of the population who won't bother to control their children because they think once a child's source of entertainment has died it is a reasonable free for all to let their kids act Ill behaved.
For shame that such incompetent individuals decide to procreate...
If you get one of those annoying, kicking your seat, kids behind you...wait until a snack/drink or meal is served, then drop your seat into recline really quick. Funny as heck and usually takes care of the problem!
Maybe you can give us your advice on how to stop babies from crying.In this instance in the plane what would you have done if you were the parent of the crying child?
Yup, you help out and next thing you know, some psycho parent is saying you inappropriately touched their kid, or the kid pukes all over the suit that you are wearing to the important meeting as soon as you get off the plane, etc. Like I said, if you can't handle them, don't have them. I only had one for that very reason. It allowed me to be a better parent, as I was able to give and undivided attention to that child.
I like reading each and every one of your posts. You are a sensible, caring and considerate person and most of all a wise mother.
The majority of kids on planes do not need to be there.
