Have had a pocket picked once. However it appears the person picking pockets was doing it for the challenge rather than actually stealing something as once he managed to get my passport he handed it back to me and walked off.
I was in Seattle once and I opened my wallet and all my cash was gone. Never could figure that one out.
I went shopping and found an American Tourister waist security pouch that will carry my passport, money, and any required ID cards that I might have to have at the time. It’s large enough for those items but small enough to wear under my shirt without being noticed or uncomfortable. Only $7 bucks too, any other items like the need to be secured in the room might still be a problem. Not all hotels have in room safes so I might look for a padlock to put on the luggage that will help deter cleaning staff from messing with my items….. (Can’t have the lock on the luggage while it’s at the airport but I can use it while at the hotel.)
