You are sounding more & more like a certain poster on here & it's become monotonous & nauseating. Maybe you & that other poster could knock off the constant criticism of other people's choices, it's very juvenile.
What? You mean "I travel more than thou" is getting repetitive?
why would anyone overrate Lake Simcoe? It is not even considered a hot travel destination.
The entire Muskoka area is overrated. I have no idea why people flock to the "cottage countries" in the summer. It is boring. Maybe they can't afford going anywhere more unique and interesting.
Lots of people living in the city like to escape the city for weekends or vacations, the Muskoka area just a 45 minute drive north of Toronto is the ideal location for Toronto residents seeking a country setting..
Lake Simcoe fits most peoples needs https://www.google.ca/search?q=Lake+...ed=0CAcQ_AUoAg

You know where I go for vacation more than anywhere else because it's A. free lodging & B. 4 hours away & C. used to be my grandparents place & D. my happy place? I go up north around 4 times a year if I can, sometimes maybe only a couple times. I prefer going there more than anywhere else. It's in the northwoods, on a river, virtually no neighbors. We kayak, have fires, smell the pine, sleep like a log because of the silence, watch bald eagles land in the trees in front. Some people would say "How boring. Nothing to do." Great I say, then please don't come & muck it up with tourists who complain about having nothing to do.
Oh, I would get so much accomplished in a place like that! Watch the eagles; write. Take out the kayak; come back and do some photoshop and graphics.
The more I get on in life, the more I realize I need space or I get dysfunctional ;(
Haha, yeah. I don't know, where I live, everyone goes "up north". It's just what we do, it's where we go on weekends or for vacation. That doesn't mean we don't go other places but many people have cabins up there or regular houses & it's just a normal thing to do.

I think you are right and I apologize for acting like that.

What matters is travelling to different places and seeing different things you don't normally see in your familiar regions. Isn't that the purpose of travel, to expand your horizon?
One can travel to each state, each city and towns in the US and he is still not well travelled. I have seen many Americans who have this "I haven't seen many parts of my country yet so what's the point of traveling overseas". Makes me laugh every time.

Why would that make you laugh? The US is very diversified, oceans, mountains, deserts, forests.
We many not have 700 year old castles but too each his own.
That remark is almost snobby. I've been out of the US but don't "laugh" at anyone that just wants to travel here.
