My boyfriend and I are heading back to Lake Tahoe from Oklahoma during December, and we will be taking the northern route through Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada. Just would like a little advice about what route to take and what our safest options would be?
We are driving a 2WD vehicle, but will be carrying chains with us. We both have experience driving in the snow, but we have always been in 4WD vehicles, so it makes me a bit nervous to attempt this trip in a 2WD vehicle.
We are planning on checking the road conditions and recognize that we might get caught up in a town if a snow storm comes through, but I am curious to find people's thoughts on driving these roads with a 2WD vehicle during December.
Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
