Is there no longer any refuge from the humiliations of economy class?

That seems to be the underlying message of a 29-second video posted online this week by British journalist Owen Thomas lambasting the condition of the first-class cabin on a British Airways flight.

Some of the BA long-haul fleet and especially the 747s are getting old and they look it. I flew Business Class from London to Phoenix and although the service and the food was great, the cabin looked decidedly past it.

The good news is that BA are phasing out the 747s and replacing them with A380s.

Even if an airliner is older, it doesn't have to be filthy.

British Airlways is absolutely awful. I'd rather fly Emirates or the like and make a stop in Dubai than Heathrow.

Heck, I'd rather fly Virgin Atlantic/Delta/United/KLM than British Airways.
