I'm planning a trip for June 2016 with my mom and my young niece. I have visited Paris before and stayed at a cool budget hotel near Gare du Nord, but I want something different. I can spend all day on Expedia and Booking.com to research hotels, but as you know, there are so many to chose from. Can anyone recommend a hotel within walking distance of the train station that is nice, affordable and safe? This is my first time booking a room large enough for 3 people. A suite would be preferred so that my mother can have some privacy and downtime.
Why does it have to be near Gare Du Nord? There are definitely much better (and affordable) areas of the city. You might find two rooms in a pension to be more affordable than a suite in Paris.

Just convenience of walking to the hotel, like during my first visit. I'll have my niece and mother and the sooner we can get to the hotel, the happier we'll all be. Traffic was a complete nightmare upon my arrival, and I don't want them to be so overwhelmed.
We'll be staying in London too, near Paddington Station, close to Heathrow express. I'm all about convenient logistics.
I stayed in Paris a few years ago at the Elysees Union Hotel which I can highly recommend. The problem is that its three and a half miles from Gare Du Nord.
If the link below works it will give you a bunch of hotels very close to the Gare Du Nord train station.
Sorry, I didn't know your lodging budget is a secret.
$350/night in Paris is affordable to me, is it to you?
No apologies needed. Basically, when people are looking for "affordable" that's code for budget, but not a hostel. I'm paying for my niece's airfare and hotel, so yes, I'm looking to save a few Euros.
Have you tried cross-polinate.com? I used them when we stayed in Paris and it has a lot of good deals. More of a guestroom/apartment rental type of thing than hotel, but cheap and really easy to use.
