I know crime, annoying peddlers and beggars, etc. cannot be totally avoided. But, out of all the islands in the Caribbean, which are considered the safest and nicest?

Personally, I found Aruba the best of the bunch but I haven't been to all of them.

Grand Cayman, without a doubt!

I've been to 8 or so different islands and I'd say Aruba is by far the safest and nicest. I know that Turks & Caicos also has that reputation, as does Grand Cayman for sure. The opposite end of the spectrum is probably Dominican Republic and Jamaica (which I like, but don't consider especially safe).

not an island, but in the caribbean, both Key West and the Keys in general in Florida and also the area of Playa del Carmen and around in Quintana Roo, Mexico seemed pretty safe and nice to me.

Since I was just there, I'm going to say Little Corn Island, Nicaragua. No roads, you can walk around the island in less than a day. Virtually no crime other than maybe some petty theft & even that is rare. I highly recommend!

Grand Cayman and St. John are probably the safest and cleanest.

Without a doubt, the out islands of the Bahamas are among the safest AND have the most breathtaking beaches you can imagine!

Most residents don't even lock their doors on these islands as its in a COMPLETELY different universe than Nassau in terms of crime and safety despite being just 50 to 200 miles away.

The biggest dangers there are the intense sun and the remoteness if I were to become seriously injured!

I'm biased but I'll throw in another vote Grand Cayman. I think Tobago may be another possibility, I haven't been but my sister has and she's never had a problem

Cozumel was safe, clean and has Palancar reef. The diving there is amazing and comparable to the Great Barrier reef in Australia. Ambergris in Belize is a close second in all time favorite islands for me. " I fell in love with San Pedro warm wind carried on the sea..........."
