Hi,
I have a Garmin, 2555 GPS, and have never experienced a problem with it, until my past trip.

Same trip I have taken twice before, but erased all my saved trips.

On the way down, it took me on a Scenic route and did the same thing coming back twice....????

I don't know why?

Is there an option to look at and select your route? most GPS's have that, but it's not always a clear option.

yes, but the route is 800 miles one way, it won't simulate it...

thing is, I've traveled these roads before, and I don't understand why it would have taken me off the main interstates?

At one point, I felt like I was in the movie, Deliverance...real back country road...lol

then I stopped in this very small convenience store, with wooden floors, and asked the woman and she said, "oh goodness, your two hours away from there". And I wasn't
I was only about 45 minutes off the beaten path.

A lot of times the GPS unit will send you the straight shot like the way the crow flies instead routing you to the fastest route.
Garmin updates and changes their maps frequently so you may have to go into their website and download the latest maps.
