I will be in Morocco starting Dec 27th with a group of friends, a few of us would like to go somewhere fun for New Years Eve but aren't sure where would be the best place. Ideally we would like to go somewhere relatively easy to get to from Marrakesh and we would want to spend no more than about half a day getting to our destination. Madrid and Barcelona seem to be the easiest to get to but we are open to other suggestions. Any ideas?

The NYE celebration I've always wanted to go to is that in Edinburgh. Don't know how quickly you can fly there from Morocco.

Lisbon might be a good option. Flights are generally inexpensive and so is housing.

What about Paris? Berlin? London? Istanbul? Amsterdam? There are best cities to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Europe.

Hogmanay was one of the best New Year's Eves I've ever had, but that was many years ago, it sounds a lot more complicated now, you have to plan ahead, buy tickets etc etc.
But the OP is certainly planning ahead, and I would think it would be *relatively* easy to get from Marrakesh to London to Edinburgh.

Much more recently: We had a superb New Year's Eve in Madrid in 2011. Puerta del Sol was beautiful, festive, and the people were partying. Be sure to get your 12 grapes for the stroke of midnight.
