Just me, but if I could only visit ONE U.S. state, I'd proably make it California. But it'd be a shame NOT to drive over to Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada if you can; they're not that far away...

I agree, Calif has many beautiful places to see. Its one state where you can have a beach, a desert, big cities, small towns, the mountains and a lake, all on one.

What are your interests? Is more to see city life? Natural wonders? country life? the ocean?? The possibilities are endless.
I might tend to agree with Crew Chief. California has: large cities, farming areas, desert, ocean beaches, snowy mountains, Yosemite National Park, the redwoods..... as I stated endless choices.

Agree 100%, I recently came over to visit primaraly to the South Lake Tahoe area, Reno is only a 1hr drive, beyond that San Francisco is only a 45min fly away, 3 hour drive, would definantly chose California.
