I will be in Vienna, Austria as base and will be taking bus/train as day trip to Prague, Munich, Budapest and Bratislava from Vienna. Which website can I book the train or bus from? I will be there early March 2016. Going from city centre to city centre would be awesome! I traveled with Eurostar from London - Paris, very easy and great way! I will be leaving early AM and be back late evening to each city. I know it's tiring and far but will still do it for sure.

Thanks for your help!

Wow, is there no way to spend the night in other cities? From my recollection, Bratislava is the only "day trip" at a little over an hour each way. The rest are about 4 hours or so, leaving you with just half a day at best to take in an exciting new culture/city (and all 5 cities you mentioned are great)

For info on schedules, booking and other tips, this is my go to site:

Is there a reason why you can't simply move on to a different city and stay there?

As the other poster mentioned, Prague, Munich and Budapest aren't easy day trips from Vienna and all three cities are worth staying in for a few days. All cities are about four hours (and a bit more) from Vienna, so a day trip would likely mean up at 5, catch the bus/train at 6, arrive at 10, leave at 6 and arrive back in Vienna at 10. It's a long, long and long day.

We did those cites in a rental car last summer. It was wonderful and we enjoyed driving through the countryside and the flexibility to go where we wanted to go.

313 Euros for nine days. We picked it up and returned it in Prague. It was a VW Golf.

echoing the rest of the posters: That is the most god-awful schedule I've ever heard. Bratislava is the only day trip from Vienna. Spend the night in Munich, Prague, and Budapest. They are all worth seeing and spending time in.
