Italy (especially southern Italy) and Greece might also be worth checking out at that time of year; they certainly have ruins aplenty.

A few years ago I did a trip to Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong. I got a really good deal on airfare and hotels. Angkor Wat in Cambodia (near Siem Reap) constructed in the 12th century is definitely not to be missed. Allow at least a few days to see it all, though you could actually spend a week.

Early next year I'm actually heading that way again but visiting Malaysia and Myanmar.
