The guy has legal citizenshio in the USA. He's afraid of travelling to the Ukraine - with good reason, from the sound of it. Why the hell is he even considering going? ?? To see Grandpa? ?? How is Grandpa gonna feel if the guy gets picked up by the Ukrainian government,

sorry if I sound cold and unfeeling; but my advice would be to stay in the USA and FaceTime with Grandpa,

IIRC,
USA also drafted nonresident aliens who were not US citizens during WWII.
