What is the most beautiful beach you have even been to?

What made it so amazing? Was it the white sands? The clear or perfectly blue waters?

My favorite beach was the beach off of a hike from Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan. Middle of summer, nice and secluded with view of all the dunes going to the water. The water is bright blue and in that spot the waves weren't very big so it was calm.

Antibes, France.

The ocean was so clear and blue that it instantly reminds me why the area is called "cote d'azur".

I've actually never heard of it before.

I Googled it and it looks absolutely amazing.

Definitely not the white sands.

I don't remember any beach names, but when I was a child and my family lived in Panama, I remember going to beaches with black sand. It sparkled like there were tiny diamonds scattered everywhere.

Granted, that was 35+ years ago. I have no idea what their beaches look like today.

A few km south of Tulum, Mexico. A guy let us in to his private property that was pretty well barren and isolated of any tourists or development. We actually carved up coconuts plucked from a tree with a pocket knife and just enjoyed the solitude and the coconut water by the beach. It wasn't absolutely stunning or anything, but I've been to actually very few beaches spit wins from my limited seaside experiences.

I'm on a mission to see a black sand beach this year SOMEwhere.

For me it's a lot closer, Cannon Beach, Oregon. I'm not much for sunbathing or swimming in the ocean, I prefer interesting natural features.

Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro...for the dramatic geographical setting.
